53: Zoom Bombing: From Trolls to Terrorists (and Our Unrelated Feelings About Grilling)
19 May 2020
Imagine being a humble boomer, excited about your new ability to use Zoom™ that took you a mere 6 meetings to figure out. You no longer need the help of the pompous younger generations and it is empowering. You have mastered Zoom™, the premiere online platform for video conferencing that has taken internet headlines by storm. Your significant other can now turn to you for help when they desperately wonder why “they cant hear/see me,“ because you’ve courageously found the settings and studied them one quiet night. Now imagine your first meeting with your brand new abilities. The local neighborhood association is planning a porch promenade. You are comfortable and confident that everyone can hear and see you. You may even be giving advice to someone in your group. “Did you click the camera icon?,” you ask. Now Imagine what it must feel like to have that all ruined by the most deplorable act of “Zoombombing,” in which an online terrorist hacks public Zoom™ meetings, takes control of the room, and posts lewd images that are filled with hate, and the most disgusting images you do not want to imagine. This week, the Art Pros podcast about e-Terrorists and Grilling. Are charbroiled steaks the diplomatic answer to unify a country? Did Zoombombers make a mistake by starting a war with Boomers?? Could Shrimps on the Barbie be the olive branch that puts an end to all this madness?!?!?! Find out this week on the Art Pros Podcast! (This episode is best enjoyed with an ice cold beer.)
