In today’s episode, we’re taking you into space to talk about a small but quite fascinating gadget called ASIM, which is short for Atmosphere-Space Interactions Monitor.ASIM is an observatory installed on the European Columbus module of the International Space Station (ISS) that monitors the high-altitude electrical discharges in the stratosphere and mesosphere above large thunderstorms.This joint project, led by the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and Terma, has been developed for the European Space Agency (ESA).
