In case you were on some other rock, there is a raging battle between Bollywood and South Indian cinema. The fight is for pan-India business. Bollywood, caters to a largely Hindi speaking population, primarily based in the upper half of India and South Indian Cinema comprises of Tamil,Malyalam,Telegu and Kannada film industries. Unlike their norther counterpart, South Indian cinema is not united by a common language, yet, some of the best content is being generated by them. Bollywood, a misnomer of a term , inaccurately used globally to represent Indian cinema, is facing the heat. It's tried and tested star power syndrome is fading and thanks to OTT, content driven movies are billing top of the charts. Unknown names are now becoming household names making the mainstream actors try their hand on web series or movies only made for OTT platforms.
