A Woman Like You

Surviving a Plane Crash and Landing on What Matters Most - with Beddy’s Zipper Bedding Creator & CEO Betsy Mikesell

14 Feb 2024

Description

In 2012, mother of 3, Betsy Mikesell had a need she couldn’t solve with anything on the market, an easy way to make her twin boys bunk beds while still looking the way she wanted it to. It was on a walk with her best friend, while sharing this frustration that the idea was born. Two years later, the two would be shipping their first order from their newly started company in Utah, Beddy’s Zipper Bedding. By 2020, Beddy’s had seen immense growth and life was going great. Until a day that was supposed to be just an ordinary day of fun took an an almost fatal turn when Betsy, her husband, her twin boys and the couples best friends were on a plane that crashed. Betsy is here to share two miraculous stories. The first of how she was able to turn a need into an idea and then into a multi million dollar business. The second of the day of the plane crash, the days following, the recovery and how life changed for all of them after the crash. Betsy Mikesell is like a ray of sunshine and truly radiates joy wherever she goes and I cannot wait for you all to hear her story.  Ps… get the tissues ready Follow Betsy on instagram: @betsymikesell The plane crash was captured by Betsys husband Gentry from inside the plane and you can watch it here on YouTube: https://youtu.be/kMzjf6K0ll0?si=2b6ldgDLFTNgguot Watch the video of the family returning to the scene of the crash One year later with the first responder who saw them go down here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iOrFvUxTRQ To see the entire product line from Beddy’s Zipper Bedding: https://beddys.com/
